About Us
CWILL (pronounced “quill”) is a leading eCommerce SaaS company trusted by 30,000+ Shopify & DTC brands worldwide. Our post-purchase and retention suite of tools — including order tracking, returns, shipping protection, reviews, loyalty, referrals, and AI-powered growth tools — helps merchants reduce support costs, recover revenue, and turn one-time buyers into loyal customers.
Role Overview
CWILL is hiring a Content Lead to build and own our U.S. content engine across SEO, thought leadership, product education, comparison pages, lifecycle content, and merchant-facing storytelling.
This role is not only about publishing blog posts. We need someone who can turn customer pain points, Shopify ecosystem trends, product strengths, competitive insights, and search demand into content that drives qualified traffic, product understanding, app installs, demos, and revenue influence.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and content strategist with B2B SaaS or eCommerce experience, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to build a content program from 0 to 1 in a fast-moving startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Editorial Ownership
- Build and own CWILL’s U.S. content strategy across blog, landing pages, product education, comparison content, customer stories, guides, sales enablement, lifecycle content, and thought leadership.
- Define content pillars around post-purchase experience, order tracking, returns, shipping protection, reviews, loyalty, customer retention, and Shopify merchant growth.
- Develop an editorial roadmap that balances SEO demand, product priorities, customer pain points, campaign needs, and revenue impact.
- Create a consistent content voice and editorial standard that feels credible, helpful, specific, and differentiated in the Shopify ecosystem.
- Manage content briefs, outlines, drafts, reviews, publishing workflows, and editorial quality control.
SEO and Organic Growth Content
- Partner with SEO and Growth to create high-intent content that can rank, convert, and support qualified merchant acquisition.
- Create and optimize content for product keywords, use-case keywords, comparison pages, alternative pages, category pages, and long-tail merchant questions.
- Translate keyword research and search intent into content that is useful to merchants and aligned with CWILL’s product value.
- Improve existing content for clarity, relevance, internal linking, conversion, E-E-A-T signals, and search performance.
- Track content performance and use data to improve ranking, traffic quality, conversion, product education, and pipeline influence.
Product and Merchant Education
- Turn product capabilities into clear, merchant-friendly messaging across website pages, help content, guides, one-pagers, and launch materials.
- Create educational content that helps merchants understand how to improve post-purchase experience, loyalty adoption, reviews, returns, and retention outcomes.
- Partner with Product and Customer Success to identify customer questions, onboarding gaps, feature education opportunities, and best-practice content needs.
- Write content that can support both self-serve merchants and sales-assisted conversations.
- Help explain complex retention and post-purchase concepts in a simple, practical, and commercially relevant way.
Customer Stories, Campaigns, and Sales Enablement
- Partner with Customer Success and Sales to identify customer stories, testimonials, use cases, performance wins, and case study opportunities.
- Create content assets for campaigns, outbound sequences, newsletters, events, partner marketing, webinars, and product launches.
- Build sales enablement content such as battlecards, one-pagers, comparison narratives, objection-handling copy, and vertical-specific messaging.
- Collaborate with Design to turn content into polished website pages, decks, visuals, and campaign assets.
- Support positioning against relevant Shopify ecosystem competitors and adjacent tools.
Content Operations and Measurement
- Build a lightweight content operating system including calendar, briefs, review process, asset tracking, repurposing workflows, and performance reporting.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external writers, agencies, designers, or freelancers as needed.
- Maintain clear documentation for content standards, messaging guidelines, target audience, product terminology, and editorial principles.
- Measure content performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, HubSpot, Ahrefs, Semrush, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
- Continuously improve the content program based on traffic, rankings, conversion, engagement, feedback, and business impact.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in content marketing, SEO content, product marketing content, editorial strategy, or a related role.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, specific, useful, and conversion-aware content for B2B audiences.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, eCommerce, Shopify ecosystem, martech, retention, lifecycle marketing, or related categories preferred.
- Strong understanding of SEO content strategy, search intent, keyword mapping, content briefs, internal linking, and content refresh workflows.
- Ability to translate product features, customer pain points, and market insights into content that drives awareness, education, and demand.
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to balance brand voice, product accuracy, SEO needs, and business goals.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Design, and leadership.
- Experience managing content calendars, review workflows, freelance writers, agencies, or external contributors.
- Self-starter mindset and ability to operate in a fast-moving startup environment where the content foundation is still being built.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Direct experience creating content for Shopify merchants, DTC brands, eCommerce operators, or SMB founders.
- Experience writing comparison pages, alternative pages, product landing pages, category pages, case studies, guides, or sales enablement assets.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, HubSpot, Webflow, WordPress, Notion, Figma, or Looker Studio.
- Experience with AI search optimization, programmatic SEO, content-led growth, PLG, or app marketplace growth.
- Experience interviewing customers and turning conversations into case studies, thought leadership, or product education content.
- Bilingual English and Mandarin Chinese communication skills to collaborate with global teams.
How to Stand Out
- Your portfolio shows content that is strategic, specific, and commercially useful, not generic SaaS writing.
- You can show examples of content that improved organic growth, conversion, product understanding, or sales enablement.
- You understand the Shopify ecosystem, DTC merchant pain points, and the difference between traffic and qualified growth.
- You can build an editorial system from scratch while still writing high-quality content yourself.
- You have a strong point of view on how content should help a SaaS business grow.
What Success Looks Like
- CWILL has a clear U.S. content strategy tied to product value, search demand, and revenue outcomes.
- Website, blog, product, and sales content clearly explain CWILL’s value across post-purchase and retention use cases.
- High-intent content improves qualified organic traffic, app installs, demo interest, and merchant education.
- Customer stories, comparison content, and enablement assets help Sales and Customer Success tell a sharper story.
- A repeatable content operating system makes publishing, refreshing, measuring, and repurposing content easier as the team scales.
