This service is NOT what I thought I was paying for.

I think Dropshipman may work for inexpensive, generic products where one item can easily be substituted for another. If you sell specific, higher-priced products where the customer expects the exact item pictured, PLACE TEST ORDERS before relying on this service.

Everything I'm describing occurred in writing. I have the emails, chat transcripts, screenshots and order history. Their explanations are in black and white.

I also wasn't using their free or entry-level service. I subscribed to Dropshipman's highest-tier Plus plan at $79.90/month.

Their own plan comparison lists features including 5,000 Temu imports/month, 5,000 AliExpress imports/month, 60 expert sourcing requests/month, bulk sourcing, priority sourcing processing, automated order product sourcing, automated fulfillment, a dedicated account manager, VIP support and a 1–3 day sourcing timeframe.

Here's where my experience went wrong.

Dropshipman provides a browser extension that allows merchants to select products from Temu/AliExpress and import them into Dropshipman/Shopify.These weren't random products I independently added and later asked Dropshipman to find. I selected and imported them using Dropshipman's own system. Dropshipman's own app then displayed inventory quantities for those products.

When I actually placed a test order, however, it went into sourcing. I eventually learned an extremely important distinction that I wish I had understood before building my store around this service.

Dropshipman told me in writing:

“Temu listings are used as product references, but fulfillment depends on availability from our supplier network.”

Read that again... product REFERENCES.

In other words, importing a Temu product and Dropshipman actually being able to source it are two different things. In my experience, Dropshipman did not simply purchase the available product from the Temu seller whose listing I imported. Instead, they attempted to locate it through their own supplier network. I even specifically asked why they couldn't purchase the same doll from another seller who had it available.

That's a HUGE distinction when the exact product matters.

I sell therapy dolls. A completely different doll isn't an acceptable substitute just because it's in the same general category.

The inventory shown in the app was also misleading to me. Dropshipman's own app displayed inventory for the product I imported. But that displayed inventory did not establish that Dropshipman's supplier network could actually fulfill the product.

I didn't understand that until I tried ordering. My test order involved a silicone therapy doll selling for roughly $170 on Temu.

My assigned manager eventually told me:

“I have checked with many factories that the product is out of stock. I have found one alternative product. Please check if you can accept it.”

The alternative wasn't a slightly different version of the same product.

My response was:

“That is a completely different doll - not even silicone.”

My manager later acknowledged they were unable to provide a “highly similar alternative.”

I then did the sourcing homework FOR them.

I searched Temu myself, found multiple listings/SKUs for the same or matching doll, and supplied them to Dropshipman. Support acknowledged that the SKUs I provided were for the exact products I wanted and wrote:

“I will forward this information to our sourcing team and ask them to check these specific SKUs.”

Remember, I was paying $79.90/month for a plan advertising 60 expert sourcing requests, priority sourcing processing and a 1–3 day sourcing timeframe.

BOTH of my September test orders ultimately failed sourcing.
This is now documented directly in Dropshipman's own order system:
Order #1003 — September 19 — SOURCING FAILED
Order #1004 — September 23 — SOURCING FAILED
I continued working with Dropshipman between these attempts, supplied additional product information and matching SKUs, and tried again.

Two September test orders. Two sourcing failures. Zero successfully sourced products.

And there's another issue: #1004 wasn't marked “Sourcing Failed” until September 30—seven calendar days after it was placed.

That's particularly frustrating considering my highest-tier Plus plan advertises a 1–3 day sourcing timeframe and priority sourcing processing.

When I separately asked customer service how long sourcing typically takes, they actually told me:

“It usually takes 1 to 5 days to complete the sourcing.”

Either way, my second test order took seven calendar days just to end in Sourcing Failed.

Thankfully, I was the customer.

These were test orders I placed myself specifically because I wanted to know what my customers would experience before trusting Dropshipman with a real customer's expensive purchase.

Imagine explaining to a customer who purchased a specific $170 doll that your fulfillment company can't obtain the product you sold them—and after waiting, the proposed substitute is a completely different, much cheaper doll that isn't even made from the same material.

I'm not willing to put my customers in that situation.

At one point I even questioned whether I had caused the problem because I had changed SKU numbers while organizing my products. I contacted Dropshipman about it, provided the appropriate product information and exact matching SKUs, and continued trying to resolve the issue.

Ultimately, Dropshipman itself later wrote:

“We sincerely regret that the products you submitted could not be sourced.”

I requested a subscription refund. Dropshipman declined. They told me the billing cycles had been completed, my subscription remained active, and the plan's benefits/features had been available and accessible, so they would not issue a refund.

I understand companies have refund policies.

My issue is that I paid for their highest-level plan, built products using their system, communicated with their sourcing team, provided additional SKUs and tested their fulfillment—and never managed to get Dropshipman to successfully fulfill a SINGLE order.

I'm also waiting to get my unused $200 back. This is separate from my subscription fees. I deposited $200 of my own money into my Dropshipman balance to pay for sourced products/orders.

Dropshipman's own transaction history currently shows:

Total top-up amount: $200
Used amount: $0

None of it was ever used.

When I decided to leave, the unused $200 wasn't automatically returned. I had to submit a withdrawal application requesting that my own unused balance be returned to PayPal.

The transaction now reads:

“Withdrawal application: return to PayPal account $200.00”
Status: “Reviewing.”

Their confirmation explained that withdrawals are reviewed and completed after the review is passed.

To be fair, Dropshipman has NOT refused to return this $200. My request is currently under review. If they return the full amount, I will consider that portion resolved.

But prospective customers should know that even though their records show $200 deposited and $0 used, withdrawing the unused money requires an application and review process.

Here's what bothers me most.

I spent hours importing products, editing listings, configuring my store, communicating with my assigned agent, supplying SKUs, placing test orders and waiting for sourcing—all believing I was setting up a fulfillment service capable of fulfilling the products I imported.
What I did not manage to do was get Dropshipman to successfully fulfill a single order.

The distinction I wish I had understood from the beginning is this:

I used Dropshipman's own extension to select and import products. Dropshipman's own app displayed inventory for them. But when I actually placed orders, fulfillment still depended on Dropshipman separately locating those products through its own supplier network.
For inexpensive generic products where substitutions are acceptable, that model may work fine.

It does not work for the way I need to run my business.

If you sell products where the exact item matters:

PLACE TEST ORDERS FIRST.

Do it before spending weeks building your store. Do it before advertising. Most importantly, do it before a real customer places an expensive order.

Do not assume that because Dropshipman allows you to import a Temu/AliExpress product—and displays inventory for it—that its supplier network can actually obtain that exact product.

I tested it first.

Thankfully, I was the customer.

Horrible! All their products I listed on my store showed sold out all the time. I contacted their agent Nicole and never got a response. Unsubscribe me.
